Trail Begins

Thanks to Don Lutz for the ride from SD airport to the trail head!

I'm going to be hiking from Mexico to Mammoth Lakes, 900 miles on the PCT 

It's dry and hot in the desert which makes mornings and evenings the time to hike

Signs along the trail are old in some places but there is good signage

And a great lunch at the local  pine house cafe. Beer on tap great burgers and I tryed the cobbler ... I'm full, but hiking north 5 more miles. The next section is dry desert for 69+ miles to Warner Springs.
